Work at Harpe

Harpe designs and trains its own models for cybersecurity and intelligence, in Madrid. It is looking for four people for January 2027: two in model research, one in software engineering and one to run the office.

In Madrid, starting in January 2027.

  • Model researcher

    • Madrid
    • January 2027

You will research, design and train Harpe's proprietary models from scratch: models that decide by what a program does, language models that reason over documents and data and cite their sources, vision models on geospatial imagery and whatever comes next.

This is not fine-tuning someone else's model: the architecture, the loss function, the data and the evaluation are yours, and the result must run locally, on the client's machine or servers, with little memory, little power and offline. Harpe's models are implemented in C; Python is for exploring and prototyping.

We are looking for a research profile with a background in mathematics or physics, a PhD or equivalent research experience, solid foundations in linear algebra, probability and optimisation, publications or original work in statistical learning and the ability to take an idea from paper to C code.

Anomaly detection, time series, language models, computer vision and low-resource models are a plus.

  • Software engineer

    • Madrid
    • January 2027

You will build Harpe's products: the agents that run on the client's machine, execute the models locally and act, and the consoles where the client sees what is happening, deployed on Harpe's cloud or on their own servers.

You will take the product from its current base to the 2027 MVP and the first paying clients, and design the telemetry, central log and identity layer of version 1.0, with the data always where the client puts it.

We are looking for experience in systems software or endpoint agents on Windows, Linux and macOS, strong C, C++ or Rust, fluency in TypeScript or Python for consoles and services and a real interest in how ransomware attacks, how a credential gets stolen and how a file leaves through the wrong door.

    Apply for this position

  • Office manager, talent acquisition and administration

    • Madrid
    • January 2027

You will make Harpe work every day. You will run the office and its suppliers, the company's administration (invoices, contracts, payroll with the external accountant, paperwork for public funding) and talent acquisition: publishing the roles, finding the people Harpe needs, organising interviews and looking after every new hire until they are settled.

You will be the first person a candidate, a supplier or an investor meets when they knock on the door.

We are looking for experience in administration or office management in a small company, order, good judgement with people and fluency with management tools and written English.

Technical recruiting experience and knowledge of grant administration are a plus.
